1969 Ford XL
Posted by ford fan on Wednesday, April 06, 2016 3:36 PM

Hello !

Please let me show you my Amt '69 Ford XL.

I saw a 1:1 car exactly like that in the book "Ford muscle-cars" & I was hooked. I painted the body using a Model Master Wimbledon White spray can. The interior is airbrushed with a custom mix of satin red & marroon. I used the usual add-ons : carpeting, photoetched parts, wires... The wheel covers are resin parts bought on eBay, & the tires come from an Amt parts pack.

Thank you - Bertrand

Nicely finished and detailed, as usual. A well-executed replica, Bertrand. Keep 'em coming!

Sweet!  Back in the day when everyone was hot for GTOs, Road Runners and Torinos, I loved the big Ford XLs - especially the 69's with tunnel back rooflines and GT C-Stripes.  My first car was a '69 LTD - tricked out with an XL interior and wheel covers from a wrecked donor car - and the 390 under hood.  Wish I could find one like this today - beautiful build.  Thanks for sharing!

Really good job!  I like the detail on the grille and the cowl grille.  I have always liked full sized muscle.  I would love to see some interior pics.  Keep up the good work.YesYes

Just keep picking away at it...
