1957 Ford Thunderbird (AMT)

This is a really old kit, but as you can see, it built up pretty well. The headlight bezels are not chromed, and the axles are metal. The windshield frame was chromed, but poorly. I sanded it a bit and then chemically removed the chrome. I airbrushed it with Alclad Chrome. The whitewalls and wheels are from my spares box. The main body color is inspired by the Zing I chose for the carpeting - Cranberry by Adirondack. I started with Blue-Red craft paint from Blick, thinned it for airbrushing, and added some Aztek Pearl Silver and Pearl Gold, to give it some sheen. Then I applied several coats of Alclad Aqua Gloss for the finish.
