HELLO FELLOW MODELERS!
Posted by RIPLEY on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 10:23 PM
My name is Dave, i have been modeling for at least 30 years since i was five, i now 50, i have built just about eveything, i'm a graphic illustrator, so the modeling and the talents it takes to build the cars to show or contest quality are with me. I love to build Mopars, there is something about them, i remember them from when i was in high school, and i wanted to have a 69 and a half 440 six-pac so bad. I used to keep a picture of one on my wall and day dream about have'n one, i then buildt the model of one. I also do chevelles, 454s,. I do airbrushing, I custom paint, and I have learned a lot! from reading Scale Auto Enthutiast magazine,. I m from minnesota and i have met a lot of very nice people from here, I have gone to all the shows, I have displayed my cars at many hobby stores in the twin cities area. I think this forum commnity thing is great, i hope to talk to a lot of you modelars out there we can all share information on tips and techniques. lets start talken Angel

BowYes hello, I have to tell you i have seen everything, the one thing i can think of that i learned for the hobby of building cars, is the custom painting techniques, have you seen Lonestar hobbies on ebay, the clear alone looks a mile deep and the colors, one of the best things that you can do is to go to body shops that have a painter that will show you all the tricks if they have time, these guys offer wonderful information on painting and the materials needed. also Scale Auto has been my bible for information for years now.

Welcome, painting is my short fall that I have not mastered yet. I do 1/24, 1/25 and 1/20 scale Vette's, muscle cars and trucks. Do have a few Mopars on the shelf. I will be the Big 5-0 next spring. Wow how time flies. Sign - WelcomeSign - Welcome Cowboy
