Hey,

I am a long time builder, mostly drag racing stuff and racing planes. (Can I say "planes" in this forum?)

Anyway, glad to be here.

So, I can say "planes"?

Great.

Can I say "balsa"?

Some of the coolest racing planes are only available in balsa kits, and there are also plans available of a lot more.

So, where is the Drag Racing section?

Hmmm...racing planes. Can you go crazy with paint schemes? How far can you modifiy a racing plane? I've been thinking lately of building a nice Gee Bee...

Kerc,

You can do whatever you like - hey it's a hobby!

I have seen planes with NASCAR paint schemes.

I haven't built enough planes to get too adventurous, and there are still a lot of planes that I want to build just they way they are/were.

High Planes out of Australia makes some nice kits of some of the more recent air racers, with nice decals.

here's a fun idea
playstation has a racing game with modern jet fighters (f-14, f-16 etc.)
would make a fun diversion

Naplak,

Yes, Mr. Mullligan, Miss Los Angeles, Ike, Pete, Dago Red and the whole gang.

I think it is the grass-roots nature of the planes and the sport that really attracted. It makes for a lot of variety. Just like drag racing used to have.
