G'day from Downunder
Posted by ausbodies on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 1:46 AM
Hi everyone, I'm a forty six year old high school teacher and have been building rods customs , oval dirt track and nostalgia drag cars since I was eight. I drive a '29 Model A Ford roadster as my daily driver, with a 350 to make it go. Here in Western Australia, you can drive a car without wipers, washers, heater, demister, or side windows 365 days of the year - O.K. occasionally, a bit of rain comes in the side, but not enough to worry about. I've got about 250 built models and about 300 unbuilt - they'll all be built one day if I live long enough! I also collect toy hot rods in any material whatsoever. Look forward to talking to some of you guys. Would especially like to chat with some-one who actually builds the old Aurora, Lindberg and Pyro 1/32 scale hot rods - surely I'm not the only one that twisted! I like 'em for a change of pace from fully detailed contest models, and for a bit of nostalgia. Also do a bit of vac-forming. My greatest achievement has been having my model of the Niekamp roadster in the International Modellers Museum in Salt Lake City. It uses a kit I produce for the hood, nose, floor, bellypan and skirts.

Any rodder or Dirt track modellers out there, woulld love to share some ideas.
Into hot rods, dirt trackers, nostalgia drags, salt lake racers and anything Aussie! Don't forget Super Model Car Sunday every July!

Welcome to the forum. 250 built models.... WOW. I build quite often and for several years (about 7 years as a more serious builder) but only have about 65 built models. I'm right there with you on the unbuilt though.
Think we'll ever finish them?

Welcome aboard.
