I'm not aware of anyone successfully removing paint with an ultrasonic cleaner. However, if you give it a try, please report back to the forum with results. It sounds an intriguing idea.

A reasonably fume free method, especially for enamal paint, is to use Castrol Super Clean, which may be usable in your circumstances. Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) 91-99% is effective on lacquer paint, and maybe acrylic, too.

You may get more hits on this query if you post it in the Builder's Corner part of the forum.

one of the Matchbox channels on YT was using a sonic cleaner to get some paint off the plastic wheels, so it MAY work.
