Hi all new here. Getting back into model cars after years away. As a kid I used to get new models every week glue bombed um heated some on the stove and mashed um into the fridge to make accidents...early hack job kit bashing lol I would venture to say I had 85% of the kits made in the 87-91 era. Then I stopped got into real cars and other stuff. Periodically I would buy a kit and get a testors auto detail set build it then stop for years again...last model was a amt 1940 will ya truck in about 2009....well stopped into hobby lobby at Xmas and saw the AMT old pro nova(turned out to be a DOG) but bought it and 3mo later I have bought 18 kits completed 4 and have 2 dozen rattle cans 20 testors detail paints tamiya weathering kit and a fluorescent magnifying lamp...and crap load of other ya think I got the bug again? Anyway I'm Sam and that's my story..nice to meet ya.

Welcome to the forum, Sam. It sounds like you have fallen into that pit of debauchery we call model building. It's too late for you now, just give in to it. It will be easier that way Wink
Enjoy the forum.

Hi. Welcome here;

 I don't spend nearly enough time here. My cars are all back burnered at this time.

Gotta admit I'm all in right now lol...and internet has definitely opened up a ton of tips to me. Biggest thing I've learned lately tho is stop being so that were I used to get frustrated by a I roll with it and realize it usually ends up an imperfection on a finished product rather than the huge catastrophe I made it out to be. That said I'm just a car guy who's models will only sit on a shelf and never enter a contest. I'm 90% done with a revell 69 nova it's just rattle can rustoleum green with a kit bashed tunnel ram and an electric fan that I dug outta my parts box from 20yrs ago but I like it......imperfections and all.

I'm new to the group getting back to model building after building the real thing for years.I'm finishing up a die cast 1/25 model of my show truck from 1975/76. It was a 1957 Fargo (Canadian Dodge) shortbox. I shortened the box and chassis of an ertl / Liberty Classics TSC truck and modified it for the side-mount spare. Now I'm looking for the right mirrors. Anyone have a set of mirrors from a 1978 AMT Ford pickup truck??
