Not new but returning
Posted by maddmaxx on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 7:39 AM

As I went to register in this forum I discovered that I had registered here in 2008 but have been inactive since.  I've been getting back into model auto work recently after a bout of military armor and aircraft.

I'm 73, retired, a former drag racer and I sort of specialize in the drag cars of the 60's and early 70's that I was most familiar with.  I've always been a gearhead and the list of "interesting" cars I've owned would keep many modelers busy for a while.

1966 Barracuda Formula S, my first race car running as a J Showroom stock

1962 Corvette with a 69 LT1 350 running as a "what you brung"

1968 Dart GTS 383 also run as a "what you brung"

1969 1/2 Dodge Charger Daytona (yes, I really owned one) 440 automatic with which I had a very successful run as a bracket car in the middle east coast states before bracket electronics and in an era where you could drive to the drag strip and race every weekend.

A succession of cars since then but nothing like the 60's and 70's.

It's not my first car, but I still have a '66 Barracuda. I'm hoping to build a 1/25 replica.
