Hello from Scale Auto HQ!
Posted by Tim Kidwell on Tuesday, April 09, 2019 11:48 AM

Hi!

My name is Tim Kidwell, and I'm the new editor of Scale Auto magazine. I had hoped to come on late last week, but time got away as we were working to make a smooth transition.

For those of you who might recognize my name, I worked for Kalmbach Media for almost 12 years, starting with the B2B magazine Model Retailer, then moving to FineScale Modeler. I also launched the short-lived Drone360 magazine which was eventually folded into Discover.

I've been a modeler and hobbyist almost my entire life, and I'm excited to work on Scale Auto and be able to hang out and share modeling experiences with all of you.

Thank you for supporting Scale Auto, thank you for making the magazine what it is, and thank you for helping create this vibrant online community.

Best,

Tim

Thanks! We're still looking at our travel plans for the rest of the year. So, no promises as yet, but it's definitely on our radar.

Nick, it was awesome getting to talk to you, Tom, Mike, and everyone else at the NNL Milwaukee show. And I agree, the future does indeed look bright.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the event as the club has been doing it for 27 years. We enjoy the hobby and want to share it as this event certainly speaks for itself with all the models on display, great model builders present, Revell's Ed Sexton had a nice display, Scale Auto taking photos for coverage in an upcoming issue and the Contest Annual, music, raffles, etc. I know that I always have a great time attending this show every year.
