question, a year ago i started nascar kits, sorry no pics. can i airbrush a gloss clear coat over the decals, and secondly the big decals tend to wrinkle, why and is their a solution

A clear coat is always recommended, but must be done in several light coats. One heavy coat may be the reason you've had decals curl. That, or you have sprayed the clear on damp decals.

Also try to use a setting solution for the decals. MicroSol or MicroSet will do nicely, but remember to let the decals sit for at least one day before touching them or spraying a clear over them. The Micro products will also help those large decals to conform to the compund curves.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. We're thinking about one with the convertibles in the future. Speaking of "Future", try brushing on a coat of Future floor wax to seal the decals and make them shine. It's made to be walked on so how much tougher do you need it. LOL And if it messes up while putting it on you can rinse it off with plain water or yellows later, you can remove it with household ammonia without damaging the paint or decals. I've used it for years and really like it.

the models are great same as you revell-monogram etc etc. right now im just into nascar model, the races and model are quit addictive so my wife tells me as i say "IF THEY AINT RUBBIN THEY AINT RACIN". i just finished dale jarretts ups ford taurus great kit went together like a charm except for the decal on the hood the edges wrinkled. so ill have to figure that one out for the next kit which is dale earnhardts 1987 wrangler SS monte carlo
