From the "NEW GUY"
Posted by DRUMS01 on Saturday, May 19, 2018 12:18 AM

Hi Everyone! My real name is "BEN", not DRUMS01. I live in the United States within the State of Ohio. While I am new to your forum, I am not new to modeling. Some of you may already know me from other forums; of so HI!. I am not a professional and do not claim to know everything about the hobby.

What I do know is many of the contributors here are top notch modelers. From the comments I have seen I think this is a good / fun group to be part of. Thanks for allowing me to participate in your forum. I hope to both learn from the many masters here as well as provide input that you will find plesant and helpful.

While my favorite modeling subject is sports and racing vehicles, I also dabble in military ground and air forces too. Thanks once again for allowing me to join your group as I hope to become friends with many of you here.

My other hobbies are playing percussion instruments, motorcycling, and shooting.

Welcome, Ben! I too am from Ohio (Tiffin). I build FC, F1, Pro-stocks and will be trying my hand at 1/16 scale Caddys and Buggati's that I purchased. Working on 1/12 Ferrari 312B F1 right now. Tom

I seem to be in the same line of interest when it comes to FC, F1, Pro-Stock, 1/16 etc. I just got done detailing a 1/14 Burago Ferrari 312 T5. Is your 1/12 kit a Tamiya or Protar kit?

I too purchased a 1/16 Bugatti that looks like a neat build. May building scales range from 1/8 to as small as 1/48....

I am currently working on an old 1/24 Airfix Harrier jump jet. Once it is done I may start on either a 1/20 revival Auto union, a 1/20 Nissan R380, or a scratch 1/18 die-cast pro-stock of a Mustang II; perhaps a Dyno Don, Gapp & Roush, or Scott Shafiroff car (?)...

Nice to have a neighbor with similar interests....

Mini man;

So you are a veteran too? Where was the photo taken?

Did you know that there is a 1/25 AMT model kit of a Kenworth jet drag truck out there (called "Super Boss", as raced at the time by Tyron Malone)? They also have the hauler for it available as well....

Welcome to the forum, Ben. Looking forward to seeing some of your stuff. Cheers.

Are you talking about a "kettle" drum or timpani? Either way, that is one (timpani) I did not get to play very much. Did you see a photo of me on facebook and are you referring to my shape? Indifferent

You can call me kettle drum if I can call the old car guy "Stutz" or "Edsel" Surprise

Just kidding, back at ya! LOL
