I have never been a fan of Revell kits. For the most part I think they are lacking detail and pieces. only their level 4 kits are any good.

I have always been a fan of mpc/amt kits, They've put out some crap kits too, but at least they optioned the heck out of them to compensate.

I like to work just as much as I don't.

Please get your facts straight!  Hobbico, who owns Revell and several other hobby related companies has filed for bankruptcy.  Not Revell.  This is just like Chicken Little saying-"The sky's falling in!"

BTW, mainstream models and 4-door sedans will not save our hobby and Revell is not the only model manufacturer!

Keep in mind that Chapter 11 bankruptcy allows a company to re-organize and stay in operation. It's not a closing down and liquidation process. As Mike stated above, it's not the Revell brand. It's the parent company Hobbico that has filed for Chapter 11.

At the rate I finish building model car kits I have more than enough to last the rest of my life here on earth. ALL the model car kit manufacturers could close their doors tonight and it wouldn't phase me one bit.

Tower (plastic-models.com) filed Chapter 11 months ago but they're still selling.  Aren't they part of the Hobbyco group?  I think Revell will be OK and even if they were to go under, someone would buy them just as Round2 stepped in on AMT/Monogram/MPC/Lindberg.

By the time I run out, I'll be too brittle to build.

I love the 4-door sedans, FS, 6 cyl, grocery getters and boring subjects too despite the market being much smaller than that for muscle cars.

The Revell company and brand will, hopefully, continue and maybe even thrive. I have to concur with the earlier posts that Chapter 11 isn't necessarily the end of the line and it appears that it's Hobbico that's at the center of it all. I too, have a large stash of Revell / Monogram kits, but then again, one can never have enough great kits in one's stash!

I hear Ya! At my current build rate, I expect to complete everything by the time I'm 472 years old. I'll try to avoid sniffing too much glue in the meantime! Big Smile
