Greetings from Oz!

Just sayin hello from Canberra Australia!

Love the mag its got something for modellers everywhere.

Got back in to modelling about a year ago, many years ago used to do 1/48 warbirds with my son, he grew up and I didn't!

Last Xmas thought it would be fun project to build my 5 fave cars, started with Tamiya NA MX5 as I had a 1:1 at the time, not a bad build for 1st timer.  Then Heller E-Type, difficult & frustratin coz parts didn't fit together properly and 1st go with spray cans, still tweaking body parts even now.

Then AMT '66 Mustang 3 in 1,  custom build metallic black with red flame decals, suprisingly good!

Then Monogram '59 Caddy DeVille, complex but not bad build, silver leaf with white roof, few mistakes if you look closely.

Then best so far, Tamiya Jaguar XJ220! Pure Metallic Red with Buff interior & metallic black under & acrylic clear coats.  Engine with Gold Leaf highlights

Currently on Jaguar MkII, Mica Blue with Light Blue interior & metallic black under. Will attemp BMF on this one.

In the for box Xmas hols is '57 Chevy Bel-Air, gonna be Lavender with Pearl Clear Coats, interior tbc.

All paints etc Tamiya, recommend gettin the right glues etc and proper modelling tools and spray turntable etc, coz we put a lot of time and effort into this & easy to ruin with cheapo short cuts.  Also magnifying headset with LED lights are a must if your eyes are as bad as mine!

Oh yes and Tips & Tech from the Mag of course to improve your skills!

I think Tamiya make the best fit kits, but lookin forward to tryin others, would like to see a Tamiya E-Type for a re-build.  Also more classic Brit cars from 1950-1975 tho I do like Classic American Muscle too.

Worst bit...mistakes at the very end, or that top spray job which you later find a hair in & have to polish out again!

Thanks for listenin

Howdy !

Dont you just "HATE IT" when you have the perfect paintjob..... then find your own thumbprint on the roof ???

(Yeah...... A C.B. antenna ain't gonna cover that ! )

Welcome to the Happy Fun Place !

Dont worry about the thumb print.... paint it rust and call it battle damage.

Soon to be on the bench...

Welcome to the forum. Great place to hang out. Looking forward to seeing some of your builds. Cheers.
