Hello everyone,

I'm PJ, and I created this account over 8 years ago when I was going to start building cars again after building r/c and free-flight aircraft. Then I had a big move, and after finally getting settled in, got into building plastic aircraft models instead, which I did for a few years.

Now, after years of going to car shows and reading various car magazines, the drive to build cars is back (it actually whupped me upside m'head!), so here I am.

My interests are classic and late-model muscle cars, be they stock, mildly or wildly customized, street rods, hot rods and customs, and of course, resto-rods. However, anything with wheels is liable to snag my attention for at least a little while, hehe.

My screen name comes from a friend's description of the engine in my 1:1 Barracuda I had in high school. It was a '73 with a .030 over '71 340, Crane cam and Holley carb and intake. He described it as a having a "potato" cam, you know, "potatopotatopotato" at idle. Talk about the one that got away...Crying

I can't really claim to be particularly loyal to one make over another, as I can find something I love about nearly all of them, not just the Big Three. I've owned 1:1 Fords, Chevys and of course Mopars, none of which I left stock, and all of which hold special, if cluttered and dusty, places in my heart. Wink

To shake off the dust, so to speak, I'm currently building a Revell 2006 Mustang GT, about which I'll create a WIP post as soon as I figure out which category in which it belongs... and how to post pics.

It's good to be back!

 Howdy !

I see you have either been a lurker here or life got in the way. Only 10 post's since 2009 ?

I get the PotatoPotatoPotato referrence. I had a 75 Cadillac that  we called Whumpity

( WhumpityWhumpityWhumpity.... RAAAAAA.... RAAAAAA... RAAAAAAAAAAAAA... )

Went through a set of rear tires about every 4 months ! Not bad for a car that weighed 6554 LBS. ( That's without my fat butt in the seat.) Gas milage????? HA HA HA HA.........

It didn't have a carbourator...... just a Monky under the hood..... dumping "Bucket's" of gas directly into the intake manifold !

Welcome back !

Dont worry about the thumb print.... paint it rust and call it battle damage.

Soon to be on the bench...

Welcome to the forum, PJ. I'm glad to hear you have finally come around to building cars. I'll check out your WIP on the '06 Mustang. Cheers.

Thank you very much for the welcome, y'all.

Littletimmy, life, then competing interests got in the way...then memory as well as I tried to recall my password and recover my account, hehe. And yeah, those gas monkeys get you at the pump!

Bainford, yeah, cars are a constant fascination for me, even when building planes.

Thanks again for the welcome!
