Returning to the forum

I joined this forum about a dozen years ago; I am surprised I still knew the password. A local closeout store started carrying some vintage reissued AMT and MPC car kits that I had built as a kid. I decided to grab a couple because the price was right. The kits aren't nearly as good as I remembered.

It got me remembering that I have some better car kits squirreled away like a Tamiya Cherokee and an Aoshima Pajero. Then I got a 70% off Michael's coupon and grabbed a Revell Rubicon Jeep kit. A long time ago as a kid, I built a Monogram Jeep CJ-7 that was yellow with a canvas top and a golden eagle on the hood.

Any way, I did a search on eBay for that kit and saw it going for more money than I'd want to spend. I figure I'll build this one and paint it similar to that 1970s era Jeep.

I was also wondering where SUV models go. It's the one automobile genre I really enjoy and have several of them.

Welcome to the forum, Rob!  I hope you will enjoy your time here again.  There is a lot of great talent here!  SUVs are considered a truck and would go in the Trucks/Commercial Vehicles catagory.

Great to see you getting back into it! The Jeep kits should be a blast to build! Looking forward to seeing your versions of them.

Welcome back. That was a long time away from here.

I've still been modeling, just sci-fi and armor, not cars. Forum usage has decreased dramatically over the years across the many forums I visit. I picked up a pickup a few years ago and slapped it together and that's been it for cars for quite some time.

I recently bought the Moebius Suicide Squad Batmobile and Dark Knight Batpod.
