Giving this a try (kinda, I think :-)

Hi there!

Been lurking around here for a few weeks, and felt it was time to start potentially being more active. The forums here have a great feel IMO, and the friendliness and open sharing of knowledge is very evident.

As part of my job, I use 3D printing for scale part and assembly prototyping in the automotive industry. I grew up in my dads garage and have spent a good deal of my life around classic and vintage cars and motorcycles. I have a real love for the history of the automobile too. Having said that Im also very excited about the future of the automobile, and how it will remain relevant in the renewable era in terms of performance and racing.

So, just out of the blue a couple of weeks ago I figured I would make a scale vehicle.

I love the large scale Japanese tin toys from the 50's and 60's era, and figured I would do something stylized like that. Now Ive got my methods and tools and processes and stuff down for doing what I do, but Im excited to try out the techniques you guys use in scale modelling. Im hoping to learn as much as I can.

Hi there- you can submit images of a great build to our online galleries here: http://cs.scaleautomag.com/f/default.aspx, click this to get started http://cs.scaleautomag.com/sca/m/sca/upload.aspx.

As for posting on the forum, you'll need to use a free photo sharing site like Flickr or Photobucket, then click the 'Insert' button at the top of your new post, copy and paste the URL for the image (the one on your photo sharing site) and it will appear.

Thanks Robby, I do have my images hosted on Imgur. But when I use the insert image, pop in the URL link and add in the pixel dimensions and hit enter, it doesnt do anything?
