Hello from a new guy!
Posted by UncleBill on Thursday, February 09, 2017 9:00 PM

I am Bill Austin, a long time member on Spotlight Hobbies' message board, an occasional advertiser on Scale Auto.  I have not built anything in a long time but built during my youth and recently rejoined his site and subscribed to Scale Auto and am now again collecting kits, resins, parts, PE, paint, tools, etc. to try an eventually build scale replicas of the 7 cars I have had through the years since 1961, many of which I have driven for 10 years or more.  I am still just collecting, but when I get the space, time, and gumption I will try to make at least a start on my intentions. His site, Scale Auto Magazine and now this board will hopefully give me the inspiration to do it, lol.

Welcome Bill!

If I could ask, what were the "seven cars".

In my profile, but to answer your question here: used 6 cylinder '61 Chevy BelAir 4 door flattop, new '66 442, used '64 Corvette coupe, used '70 Z28, new '84 Z28, new '97 WS6 Firebird Formula, new '06 GTO.  I can only afford one car at a time so I get the best car I can, take care of it, and drive it a long time.  Note the last four (including the GTO I have now) for about 10 years or more.  I would have driven the 442 longer but, sadly, I totaled it on a rain slicked highway curve.

Edited typo: was a '97 WS6 Firebird Formula, not '96.

Welcome to the forum, Bill. Good to have you aboard. I used to lurk on the Spotlight Hobbies board a while back but it's been a long time now. Looking forward to seeing your builds. Cheers.
