Hello from Michigan
Posted by RudyOnWheels on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 1:14 PM

Hi There, my name is Rudy, I build 1/24 and 1/25 cars and trucks, along with 1/48 scale aircraft and 1/35 armor, which is new to me as of late. I bounce back and forth between the cars, trucks, aircraft, and now Armor. I am a member of the Downriver Model Car Club (Michigan) and recently joined the IPMS (USA) and the local(ish) Livonia Mi chapter of IPMS. I recently subscribed to the magazine, and was drawn to the site by a buld of a 66 VW bug by another michigan fella "TechEd". I do not know him, but he does pretty amazing work. Though I have mostly built box stock throughout most of my life, I am trying to do modifications now when possible. I enjoy 1:1 cars, Military History, history in general, and have built and restored a few cars (1:1) even though I am a T-4 Paraplegic, It does not slow me down.  My day Job is an Engineer at a Medical Device Manufacturer.  I look forward to checking out all of the amazing builds on this site, and sharing camraderie with people of similar interests!

I am currently finishing up the "firestone" 1978 F250 in (I think) 1/25. I will post some pics asap.

Thanks, Rudy

Hi Dan! I've only been involved for about 2-2.5 years with DRMCC, I also live about an hour from dearborn where they meet. I work in Detroilet, so it works for me to attend the meetings on the 3rd friday of the month after work, then head home. If I had to draive all the way from home, I may not have stayed involved. I do not know who Chris Clark is, I do not think I have ever met him. I seem to find myself building more Armort and planes these days, but do throw a Car or truck in there in between as well. Lol I am the only guy in the DMCC who brings tanks and planes! But I DO get some nice cast-off armor and planes people dont build! I am simply trying to improve my skills and teechniques with every build, regardless of the subject.  I'd love to get more info on these yahoo model clubs/gathering places and see anyones work, for sure!

  Take Care, Rudy
