Wire Wheels;

     How many of you have heard of E D Model Parts? I haven't till my ride to what I call my LHS 45 miles from here. As I was heading for the door with My " Supernatural" Black 4Dr Impala I spotted them. Wire Wheels 60 spokers at that! Sure they are resin, BUT, they are so well done I had to have a set.

    Hold your breath just a little, They were a whopping $24.99 for a set of five. That almost scared me away. Then I noticed I was seeing the picture through the spokes! On the card in behind those gorgeous little wheels in 1/25 scale!

     Sure, they arent chromed. But, isn't that what a MOLOTOW fine pen is for? Yay! Wire Wheels. Let's see, Twelve Buick Rivieras times $ 24.99 is let's say $300.00 with tax. Oh well I can finally get all those Buicks built and with five per pack I can do a few T-Birds and my one and only Four door  Buick Deuce and a Quarter right nice, I would say.

 Oh, the four door? I had an old body I got from a promo and it was straight. So I made a resin Copy of it, before, my allergy to resin was discovered. It's already painted anyway. Black of course!

    Has anyone ever heard of the company ED Model Parts?

The company is actually 3D Model Parts, but judging from the logo I would have read ED, too!

They are a new company selling ship, aircraft and automobile scale parts. They say they're in the USA, but otherwise there's no info about whothey are or where. So far the wheels you got are the only automotive parts they offer. This is their web address: And these are pictures and description of the wheels from their web site:

  • 3D Printed Wire Wheels!
  • 5 wheels per set
  • Real, separate spokes in correct interlaced pattern!
  • Measured and modeled from the real thing
  • Accurate spoke nipples and rim details
  • Can be drilled to match kit axles
  • Works with enamel and acrylic paints, CA glue
  • Accepts many aftermarket rubber tires
  • Scaled to 15" x 5" wheels as fitted to Austin Healeys, Jaguars, Triumphs, Aston Matrins, MG's, Cobras, and many others
  • Select type of Knock-Off (Spinners) Option, Above!
  • 2-eared, Octagonal, or 3-eared

Wow! That's a nice looking wheel. Wish I saw these before I build my MGB last year.
