Photo hosting sites
Posted by The Firefighting Modeler on Saturday, April 4, 2020 12:14 AM

I've been having trouble signing up on Fotki. It kept saying it needs a valid e-mail address and I have two. I know Photobucket is available but I don't want to shell out the money. Are there any other photo hosting sites?

Fotki seems to be having some issues lately. I wasn't able to log in to my account to upload pictures, so I contacted their customer service. After 3 days the answer was "clear your browser cookies and cache". It eventually worked but it was still annoying.

Do a search for photohosting sites and select the one that would work best for you.  I went with IMGUR after I did a search and determined that what they had offered would work best for me.  There quite a few sites out there.

I've been using Postimages.org with great success. No pop-up adds or other nonsense abd free so far.

Photobucket really blew it. I get daily emails from them, first threatening me   that my old images would be destroyed unless I sent them $, but recently sending "nicer" emails telling me how much of a "valued member" I am to them and requesting that I answer a survey to help them learn what is an acceptable level of extortion for photo hosting. I guess their $399 special didn't work out so well. Photobucket is so clueless...

UPDATE. I did a search and noticed Google Images kept coming up. Ironically I have the app so I'll see what happens.
