AMT 1957 Chrysler 300

My modeling activities have been on hiatus for a number of years, but I've kept up my Scale Auto subscription and attended a couple NNLs. With my workweek down to two days for reasons I don't need to explain, I decided this is perfect opportunity to dive back in.

I'd like to start with the last kit I was working on, an AMT 1957 Chrysler hardtop. I had the body painted in MCW Parade Green metallic, the chassis and interior all done, and went to do the final assembly. As you my know, the chassis/interior and body don't fit together properly. I tried hacking away at the base of the windshield to make it work, without success. That's when the time came to start a home remodeling project and I had to put it aside.

Has anybody figured out a solution to this problem? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

I have one of these that I have heavily customized, but not yet finished.  One thing I noticed when cutting the doors and trunk open was the extreme thickness of the body.  So any advice on final assembly of this one will be greatly appreciated.

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!
