Two kits?
Posted by Manifoldhead on Sunday, March 8, 2020 1:38 PM

Hi All,

Being new to the hobby, I am realizing that the price of the kits themselves is one of the less expensive things considering all the other things needed. Considering this, it seems like buying two kits to build one is the way to go. There are spare parts for mistakes and plenty of left over parts for later builds. Plus, I suppose if the spare kit is never opened it could be sold later.

Do many of you buy two?

When I started I also usually bought kits 2 at a time.  Eventually what happened to me, and many others, is you start finding things you like/want/need at a much faster rate than you can build and the infamous "stash" begins to take shape. Mine is acutually pretty small compared to some others on the board at about 40-50. Some of the folks around here have 100s on the shelf.

Unfortunately for me (and more so for my wife) is that finding and buying desired kits has become part of the fun for me. Big Smile
