Yes, thank you! And YES, FULLY inspired by a couple of these! In fact, when the red Riv came up, my wife made a sound that's indescribable other than "pure joy". :)

My favorite color is clear. I am also ambidexterous, I can screw up equally well with either hand. I am 53 years old and been building for most of that time. :)

On the bench... somewhere. Pink Panther show car, 1978 Dodge Magnum Charger Daytona Midnight edition SE 300. Mongrel T.

Thanks so much, Tim! Once again, quality photos of some of the coolest machinery on the show circuit. Plenty of inspiration, as usual. I especially liked the multi-color 'flake on the Corvette and, of course, the Mopar display. Thumbs Up

Tim, was there a model contest down there this year?  I didn't go to the show, I spent the crummy cold Saturday at the bench!

I can answer that for you. Every year that I know of they have had one.

I know one thing for certain, when Tim posts pictures, I'm never disappointed. Thank you, Tim.

You didn't by chance catch the builders name to this Model A sedan? From the front frame rails to the filled in rear wheel arch, this build have Ricky Bobby's fingerprints on it.

There sure was....expert modeler Steve Perry was there to cover it for Scale Auto from what I am told.  Steve takes great pix and is a highly knowledgeable builder, so I'm sure that the coverage will be good.

Here's what the contest table looked like just after the doors opened....

DSC 0549...and here's the caption I posted with the picture...

Here's the setup for the yearly Model Car Contest at the Detroit Autorama. As a former Best of Show winner at this event, back when MPC sponsored it (I won the 1978 contest), this is still an annual tradition at the Autorama that is very close to my heart. The floor space occupied this year is among the largest square footage ever from what I recall over the 50+years the contest has taken place there. This picture was taken around 1:30pm Friday, by the same time on Saturday the tables should be full. Congrats to all involved!

Thanks for asking!  TIM

Thanks Marc....no, sorry I don't know the builder's name, but I was impressed with the car and took extra photos of the Nailhead V8 to help those planning to build the upcoming reissue of the Revell l'29A Roadster with its Buick engine this time...TIM

Wow. Seeing the pics of the Uncertain T makes me think what an iconic show car that is. Its been over  50 years since Steve Scott conceived and built that awesome show car. It is still very much in style. Imagine the pride that man must feel. He has a website and he is very accessible. He is a super nice guy too. Give him a shout.  He was working on producing a new model kit of the Uncertain T. Check it out!
