70 years in the hobby and still love it.

In 1949/1950 My dad starting taking me with him to a hobby shop in SoCal. He was into H.O. trains - YEAH, clear back then, and we lived in houses not caves. Can you imagine that ??

Anyway I started with military vehicles, sci-fi rockets and wooden cars you had to carve per the instructions. Even as archaic as they were back then, they were fun.

BUT...when 1958 came along and AMT came out with their first series of 1/25 scale 1950's cars, that's when everything changed and model car building became a genuine hobby, and has just grown since then.

It may be slowing down now, but it's just as much fun for me as it was back in the 50's, even somewhat better I'd say because of what has been made availabe for so many decades.

To me, like many other older members here, there was a peak that lasted at least a decade and many of us got to enjoy those "GLORY DAYS" of this hobby that will probably never return

Anyway I'm still growing strong and still love this hobby, and I'm still in God's hands.

Even if the hobby falls on it's face sometime in the future, Like a lot of guys here, I have more than enough Kits and parts to keep me happy and building, and we'll still have Ebay - YAHOOThumbs Up.

FUNNY Big Smile

You've known me a lot of years Chucky, and that fire and passion for the hobby and people and life has never been quenched.

I just bought a 1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix resin wagon made from a Modelhaus convertible resin body. It's spectacular. Only 6 cast and I got 1 on a buy it now.

My first 2019 Christmas present. Can't wait to see what else comes up before Christmas that just grabs me.

At 76 years old I'm just getting a good start on life. God has made me strong and still go to the gym and walk and run on the treadmill, and do free-weights and machines. Gotta stay slim and in good shape ya know.

Good to hear from you Chucky. All the best - Dave
