Do You Remember When.....
Posted by DRUMS01 on Thursday, June 27, 2019 4:37 PM

I waas looking through some classic (OLD) model magazines as well as pictures of kits I've owned and while it brought back some really good memories, it also had me wondering if anyone else here can remember these kits?

Here is a list of some of the older stuff I found and please keep the string going by adding some of your own "older" or vintage items....

And some vendors in older model books:

Come on, keep this string going.....

Well, the only one of yours I remember, though probably only from photos, is Li'l Coffin ...

Here is a list of some of the older stuff I found and please keep the string going by adding some of your own "older" or vintage items....  (my first attempt at posting photos ... I hope that I get this ...)

Mine aren't quite as recent, but at least a couple of them seem to now be made completely of "unobtainium" ...

The oldest one I have, from 1978:

That one is not in any kind of salvageable state I'm afraid, so I've been keeping an eye out for another copy (and no, the recent reissue with the Jeep Honcho instead of the Chevy pickup doesn't satisfy my search).

Another, similarly unsalvageable, also difficult to find:

Next, from 1980, one of my childhood favourites (read: "now suitable only for painting practice"):

That one I *did* find another copy of some years ago, and it is now the oldest unbuilt kit I own.

The last one I thought worthy of this topic, also from 1980(ish?), and also one I built around that time, though all that remains of that build in fact is the box, though I have very recently been able to get another copy, completely unbuilt (well a couple of engine parts had been assembled and some painting had been started around those parts), and much to my surprise, with absolutely all the parts (I checked each against the instructions).  Very exciting for me:

The 1951 Henry J Drag Car would have been nice. I've never seen it. This would be a great Gasser to find and build today.
