Did the mods take a break from updating the Gallery?
Posted by All_6s_and_7s on Friday, July 06, 2018 7:30 AM

I'm always looking at the gallery for new builds and I have uploaded a couple of pics over the last month, but I haven't see an update.

I like to work just as much as I don't.

Please keep in mind that the forum is secondary to anything Scale Auto has going currently with the print and digital versions of the magazine and its other editions like the Contest Cars annual plus traveling to the various model shows and contests around the country.  They simply don't have the personel to keep everything running like forum members would like.  We all have to be patient.

Volunteers have offered their services to help out with the forum, it's time the administration makes a decision and appoints said moderator(s). The ball is in their court, it's their play. In the meantime we're dealing with blown head gaskets, cars that won't accelerate above idle and some guy trying to peddle die casts. Sorry, if I forgot to be patient... Crying

If you want to post photos, why not post them here on the forum? I doubt that the Gallery sees very many views or activity. Your photos would get more exposure and feedback here. Mark and Robby probably don't have the time they would like to devote to the forum. So, they have to prioritize. The magazine has to come first.

This is what I was trying to say!  But, for some people, they have no patience and don't want to wait.  If you see a post that appears to be spam, report it and don't go back to it.  Simple as that!  Admin will get to it eventually.  Just remember, the magazine comes first!

I've just opened a thread in the Community section as I add photo's regularly and have asked the same question, because I didn't see this one already started.

I put my builds on here, but like to add them to the Gallery as well.

To those crying about spam, report it and quit looking and whining. The  admin will do what they can when they can.

I do... and no one ever comments or discusses my builds, so I post to the galleries to hopefully spark interest in discussion. I find that I get more comments about my builds in the gallery than I do in the forums oddly enough.

This place seems to be stuck in a cycle. No one posts because no one comments and no one comments because no one posts. It's frustrating for both sides. I don't know if it's because no one is here or if it's because no one wants to take the time to post a comment.

You're right plowboy. It takes a lot of effort to post on this forum compared to other forms of social media. That's why I only like to post special creative builds on here, and I sometimes put a lot of effort into what I'm doing, and it seems like I post more progress pics than I get discussion. I can post all the pics on want on my instagram page get a 100 likes and a couple comments, but this a forum of like minded people, that aren't talking??

I've had more of a discussion on this post then I have most of my builds, so either I suck as a builder or 99% of the membership dislikes my content lol

I like to work just as much as I don't.

This isn't exactly the easiest forum to comprehend. There are no "new post" icons or indicators showing when you view the board. Unless you click on view recent discussions you really don't know who recently posted what unless you look at the time stamps. The previous software version also showed who was online, this version does not.

As for the Gallery, I happen to like it and would like to see it updated more often.

I posted four photos last night, and two of them showed up in the gallery within 24 hours. Don't know what happened to the other two, though.
