Ford Bronco tires and wheels
Posted by modelcarjr on Saturday, March 17, 2018 10:39 AM

I bought this Revell kit at a model car contest and the vendor has replaced the kit wheels and tires with slotted steel wheels and tires using the kit wheel covers. He said that these wheels and tires (below) looked more like the stock wheels for a Ford Bronco. The wheels in the kit are very small and in fact, the kit wheel cover is a full wheel cover on the kit wheel.

I like the steel wheel and cover but I want to replace the tire with something wider with more tread. Unfortunately, these wheels are to big for standard 1/25th tires and too small for the touring type of tire that I have tried. I'm not sure where he found these wheels or even if they are in scale. So maybe I should try buying some. I don't have many trucks or truck tires and I don't know much about Broncos. Any suggestions?

The wheels and tires from any of the Moebius Ford F100s will fit the Bronco and they look more accurate, too!  I used the wheels and wheel covers from the '71 Ford F100 Ranger for my Bronco with the kit tires.  The tire fit was tight, but they look good.  You will have to cut down the mounting boss on the inside of the rim to get a proper fit.

You can order the wheels and tires you want from Scenes Unlimited or Fireball Models as both companies have great products and service.

Thanks, MrMike and High Octane! I appreciate your comments! I think I'll try buying a set of wheels and tires as the kit tires are gone and I don't think the ones above will work. I only paid $10 for the kit so I can't complain! Thanks for your help!
