Gravity Colors question.
Posted by Roger Bannon on Friday, December 22, 2017 11:23 AM

I have run out of the Gravity colors primer, and I was just wondering if there are any other primers that are compatible with Gravity colors.  I live in Canada and getting Gravity colors is a long and pain staking process.  Anyways, I have some of the paint left over, but I need a primer.  Thank you.

I will never claim to know it all.

Tamiya is a lacquer primer so it should work under pretty much any hobby paint. I have no experience with Gravity paints though. I also have no experience with Dupli-color primer, but it seems to be the 'go to' primer for many forum members for use under all paints.

Most excellent, thank you Bainford.  I am going to give it a whirl today, Tamiya primer is something I have in abundance.

How long to get your gravity order ?.

The last order that I received, had taken almost 3 months to get.  They offered to give me some free paints, but have not seen anything show up in the post.  I have givin up on Gravity Colors, and will probably not buy from them again.  I'm sure that customs might be a problem when receiving paints from across the border.  I have been trying to get my local hobby shops to carry the Gravity line, as I do really enjoy the product.  If it wasn't such a hassel to get the product here in Canada, I would be buying them all of the time.

I will never claim to know it all.

I've been waiting 2 months, so I shouldn't expect it for another few weeks then. Thanks for the info, maybe I will try mow next. Ps first time ordering gravity, usually just use spray cans.

Yes, Tamiya primer works well under almost any paint.  Use the "fine" primer as it is smoother right out of the can.  many times I don't even have to sand it before applying a color coat.
