Dual Air Cleaners for 57 Chrysler 300 C
Posted by modelcarjr on Thursday, October 26, 2017 7:46 AM

Every picture I have seen of the 392 Hemi in the 57 Chrysler have dual gold air cleaners that entend over the valve covers on each side. The kit comes with a single oblong Mopar-type air cleaner. I have looked through Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland catalog and didn't see anything like that but will call them later today. Has anyone ever seen these air cleaners in 1/25 scale?

I doubt that I could scratch-build them. The only thing that I can remember that even comes close is the Hudson Hornet air cleaners. Does anyone know of anything closer?

Thanks for any help! Cool

I find that interesting that your '57 Chrysler does not have the dual air cleaners.  My kit had them and I just checked my ProShop kit and that has them, too!  I believe there was a custom version and maybe that is where that air cleaner came from?

Yes, this is the custom version. I had hoped it had both the custom and stock air cleaners. I guess I'll see if I can buy a original stock kit on E-bay. I think it would look better with the stock air cleaners. Thanks MrMike!

You're welcome Jr!  This is just as I had suspected, you have the custom kit.  I don't know of any resin caster that makes the air cleaners you are after, but I will keep an eye out for you.

Thanks, MrMike, but I bought a regular kit on e-bay so I'll have the air cleaners soon and it will also mean that I'll have the stock hubcaps instead of the faux wire wheels included in the custom kit. Found one with free shipping so not a big deal. Then if I want to build a "Custom" at some time, I still can!
