Nascar Decals.
Posted by PatrickW on Thursday, October 05, 2017 2:13 AM

I have 3 old Nascar kits that I want to finally build. The decals are hard and crusty. I sometimes print my own decals, but copying these are difficult as they are on a blue backing paper. I've tried Mike's Decals and had no reply as yet, and I have found a huge list of suppliers all in the USA and I'm in the UK.

Who else can I rely on to supply top quality decals at reasonable prices please?

If the kit decals are not totally destroyed, you might want to try to save them by spraying with Testors Decal Bonder (if available) or a couple light coats of your favorite clear.

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!

Thanks TarheelRick for your quick reply. I gave the decal sheet two coats of gloss clear as we don't have Testors products here in the UK. The sheet is now useless because I tried the bonnet/hood decal, which took a long time to get off the thick blue backing sheet then it broke up on the surface.

I have scanned and sized the decal sheet into a Word document, so if I could find a PC programme to change the background/backing sheet to white I could print another set.

OK found what I need on Jim Heller's ebay site, best shipping prices to UK as well!
