Anyone ever use it for vinyl top? I took a bit from work and will see how it looks.

Did the convertable top from lindberg t pick up. 2nd try.

For vinyl tops I use that blue painters tape. The texture is almost perfect. For the older cars (1900 to 1940's ) you need a smoother surface because the tops were made of canvas or horse hide in the more expensive cars.

Dont worry about the thumb print.... paint it rust and call it battle damage.

Yup, I used it for the roof of my Bourne Identity Mini - it's great stuff!

It also makes good safety straps and bar padding:

I thought it would be good for seat belts. And other interior stuff. I think it looks ok for a convertable top.

I used thin strips of it on window trim and it looked great. Was disappointed to return to it a couple weeks later and much of it had shrunk and pulled away. I think the fault was that the vinyl's a little stretchy so take care to not pull it too taut. Its light tack won't hold it tight if used on small area.
