Questions from an armor modeler
Posted by Chrisk-K on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 6:06 PM

I've built armor models and want to build cars and motorcycles.  I have a few questions.

1. Is it a norm to build and paint sub-assemblies and then put together everything?

2. When you put together painted sub-assmeblies, do you use a superglue?

3. Do you usually apply a glossy top coat to the entire model?

Cheers.

It is a matter of choice. Usually i glue the engine block together, then sand seams, primer if you choose to, then paint. It is best for me to look at instructions and decide what can go together and what has to wait.

Super glue is another choice. For years i only used model glue. Now i use both.

Paint depends on what you want. Some are flat, semi gloss, or gloss. I have painted some flat then glossed. Others i have sprayed with gloss paint only to dull coat it.
