Got an old mpc 32 chevy roadster hot rod missing parts and another street burner 55 chevy built missing hood and lil john buttera's 26 ford t sedan delivery unbuilt, chopped at a store where you rent a space and sell your stuff, all for under $20.00.

don;t throw that away,i can use it!

Honestly Flea markets and antique malls would have been the last place I looked for model kits but since the recent ungodly price increases even 10 dollar sealed kits are less than half of current retail. I can honestly say even without these awesome finds I wouldn't be back in the hobby. there is no reason for 10 oz. of styrene plastic to cost 25 dollars or more.

I couldn't agree more. well said.

I've been buying and finding most of my kits from places like this for the last few years now. Some are unbuilt, some are already put together or glue bombs. Either way I find them, its is a lot better alternative than paying 20-25 dollars or more for one new kit.

My local hobby shop recently got a bunch of pre built and scrap kits / used kit parts galore in stock. So you can guess what I was buying. Yesterday, I bought 8 "scrap" / glue bomb kits and a box full of various tires, engines and other very useful kit parts for $35. This is what I found:

2 AMT 66 novas ( 1 built, 1 unbuilt) , Monogram 56 chevy (built), Monogram ZZ top 33 ford (built), Revell 93 chevy caprice cop car (unbuilt), AMT/Monogram 53 ford truck flipnose (built), Revell early 80's el camino (built), AMT 65 el camino (built).

With the exception of the built 66 nova kit ( missing a truck lid) all the kit bodies I got were complete and quite buildable/ saveable.. They were missing wheels and engines and maybe some other small piceces for the most part. Which isn't a big deal for me as I have a nicely stocked parts box to fill in the voids.

If you can't find or afford to buy it, Build or make it yourself.

On my bench: 57 Ford skyliner, 56 chevy gasser, 57 ford gasser, 2- 72 Novas , 69 nova, 54 chevy fieldcar, 61 Galaixe ,  63 Buick electra convertible..along with  a handfull of stalled builds I need to finish. Basicaly too many.

I had two scores in the last couple weekends.

-The first score was all this from a local flea market where the vendor was closing his booth after this weekend.

69 Camero z-28 RS

4 Nascar kits

41 Plymouth

57 Chevy Hard Top

95 Viper rt/10

Ferrari 308GTB

BMW 320I

65 El Camino

3 Testors metal trailers

 All for FREE

-Second score

Ferrari Testarosa

Stingray III

jaguar XJ220

Mercury Cougar street Machine

69 Plymouth GTX

All for 5 dollars from another local flea market.

Two weeks ago I pulled a pulled a Nascar kit out of the trash at a flea market. the vendor threw it away saying it was missing pieces. I pulled it out and inventoried everything and it wasn't missing pieces it just had two unpainted pieces glued together. So I got that for free.

Current project: 41 Plymouth

The wife, kids and I went to a flea market Saturday and I hit the motherload. The day started slow with lots of junk, and dealing with a 3 and 5 year old running from toy to toy. The first kit that I saw was a 57 Ford that I could use. The guy came down to 3 dollars from 5. My day was made right there. Not even twenty feet away was a guy selling about 12 kits all factory sealed with nice clean boxes. I glanced in the boxes, and my heart skipped a beat. The seller had the following kits: 1958 Chevrolet Impala 3 in 1 by AMT 1980 Revell Ford Bronco LASD, 1949 Mercury 3 in 1 late 70s release, 1971 Duster newer AMT, 1976 MPC Pinto wagon. There were several other newer kits that were newer late 90's Nascar kits. The seller wanted five bucks each for the older kits and ten for the Nascar kits. Long story short, I bought the five older models for twenty dollars. It made my year. Sorry for the ranting, but it was the best find I have ever had.

Hi Guys,

Well, it wasn't today or yesterday, but a few days ago my wife won an auction for me on Ebay and the prize was an original, mint, AMT annual 1961 Ford T-Biird Convertible. What a girl!!!

Nothing.

I've amassed a hoard of stuff, so I don't buy things everyday (or even every month).

Hi all, being this topic has been started 2 years ago on another fourm and is still running, I decided to start one here for those who want to show of there latest scores and buys. Here's what I got at our club meeting last night: I allready got cracking on it and built the nice, but rather flimsy cardbord diorama. I'll be starting a WIP topic on the '37 soon and i'll put the diner on at the end when she's all finished. I also got old '90s mopar magazines and won a American Grafitti '58 Impala 'Vert diecast kit from our raffle (not shown in pics). The 'Impy I gave to my friend who i'm trying to get in to building; him and I are going build and paint it as i'm showing him the basics of modeling when he's ready.
