Hey Pat - I've got the Mercedes as well.  Looks like a nice kit, though little disappointed that it's a curbside.  And looks like there's lots to add to the body after paint!  Group build?  lol

Thanks,

John

As I rather like the look of the CJ7 Jeep in the latest SAE Mag, I've been lucky to find one on ebay UK and at a very good price, to be delivered tomorrow...

A Monogram variety to build into this the SAE build up...

I've been on holiday to Portugal and while away Fathers Day has come and gone. Our youngest son who is still in the UK has dropped off....

So it looks that I might be busy on this build soon!

I stumbled across a garage sale in the neighborhood that had about 30 models. Models in the wrapper were $10 and without wrappers were $5.  So I picked up 5 kits that were all unwrapped and all were complete and unbuilt. A 56 Chevy Del Ray (I have built it before and its a great kit), 69 Dodge Charger Daytona, 66 Ford Galaxie, 72 Chevy Chevelle and a Daisy Jeep! So combined with 5 purchases at the last contest, that ranged between $10 and $15, I now have 10 models for less than $100. I think I spent about $85 total. I should be good for the rest of the year if I only build these kits! Thanks for looking! Cool

If you cannot have a good time, what kinda time can you have? JR

Next on the bench:  Another 1970 Hemi 'Cuda, 1958 Chevy Impala, 1987 Buick GNX, 1950 Chevy Pick-up, Indy Reynard, 1965 Corvette, probably not in this order.

Great "nabs" you guys.  That Imperial is a sold gold blast from my past.  If I could still build 1/24 I'd be combing the internet for those kinds of builds.  I actually do have some 1/24-1/25 that I will never build, and would give up cheap or free.  I have concentrated on large scale for many years now...both plastic and diecast.  I just acquired the 1/12 scale Mazda 727B LeMans winner from Hiro.  It's actually more daunting than I thought it would be...a real challenge.  But, alas, I have far too many WIPs and unstarted "must build" kits already to dive right into it.  These are pretty pricey, but I think I got a good enough deal that if I change my mind I can well gte my money back plus a little.  I have totally forgotten how to post pics, so if any of you can referesh me on that I'll try to put some up.

I got this 59 Imperial its the promo type model that car dealers would give their customers .I guess the term used today is curb side? because it has no opening hood /engine.This should be a fun painting kit I do miss these large cars.

I got this Aston Martin DB 4 in a trade with a fellow Club member today.

I've been wanting a British van since I saw a restoration of a Ford Transit Mk. I van on TV's For The Love Of Cars.  This is close enough!

I got two more kits on Saturday.  The '53 Chevy was given to me with the body painted maroon metallic over white metallic.  I won my bid at auction for a sealed 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger for $20.

IIRC, AMT bought MPC during the '70's or '80's, but I'm not sure of the date.  They are both now owned by Round2.

Seems to be identical to the MPC ‘82 Bad Company Ram van except the obvious different year grill. Was AMT ever in any partnership with MPC?

Here are some pictures of the parts in the kit.  Judging by the flash on some parts, this kit has been re-issued a few times over the years and some parts have fallen off the sprues.  There are custom interior panels and some mid-back custom bucket seats.  This kit is typical of AMT/Ertl's ownership which included a mish-mash of bits and pieces.

I believe that this is the same as the Tradesman van kits that you have.  There are custom interior pieces and custom rear windows with w-i-d-e tires, but no mags.  I do have plans on building this kit, just not right away.  Sorry.

No sweat! I’m sure I will end up picking up this same kit! Cool that it has some custom parts! As for the mags, no big deal! I have tons of Cragers, slotted, and a stock pile of Pegasus Astro mags!

I know the MPC ’82 “Bad Company” Ram van is the same as the Tradesman vans. Only difference is the interior tub on the Ram van has cup holders and a slightly different dash and seats. The bodies are obviously different but they share the same windshield, engine and chassis. So if you score a Tradesman body and grill, you can build the whole van using the Ram van kit! I’m curious as if there are any differences in the AMT Rescue 911 Ram van compared to the MPC Rams?

I am a Dodge Tradesman sucker... I also have reason to believe I may have been conceived in one Sadly these vans are usually a bit pricey since they are vintage kits. Gotta pay to play I suppose.

Scooped this ‘74 today

As well as this, what appears to be a ‘72 today as well

This I picked up a few weeks ago but thought I would share amongst my acquisitions today. A ‘77 that is identical to the ‘78 my father had when I was born.

Sadly it must have been stored in a hot attic or something, the leading edge of the hood was pretty warped. I got it about 95% straightened out, but I may end up doing a transplant from the next...

Bought this junkyard ‘79 same day as the ‘77. Will be using the hood to repair the ‘77 and the upper quarter panels to patch where someone cut out the port windows on the ‘72 I bought today. I’m sure I will end up using the roof as well as a lot of these vans on ePay have had the roof butchered.
