I've gotta ask, Chopped, what are your plans for the 12 deuces?

I am saddened to say that one of my local hobby shops is closing its doors for good. The owner, who purchased the business when he retired from his regular job, is now retiring for good and has been unable to find a buyer. Therefore, he is having a closing sale with 30% off everything in the store, so I just had to pick up a few things to send him on his retirement...

Once he closes his doors, I'll have to travel 1h+ to the closest (but best, mind you) hobby shop around, viper_31ca's shop! Wink

Besides the fact that my LHS finally HAD (sorry guys, I bought them all!) some of the new Revell midgets in I found another LHS Big Smile and they had the AMT 61 Galaxie kit.

So besides the fact that I found another LHS and I was able to get some kits I've wanted, while driving by some of my new customers I spotted ANOTHER HOBBY SHOP opening soon!!!!!!

Glad I picked up some new customers cause now I have three LHS's to support Stick out tongue

I didn't buy it today, but does last week count? I found a '78 Vette, a Jeep, a '71 Camaro, an El Camino, and my biggest prize, Cooter's tow truck all on eBay. The other 3 I got, a '68 Firebird, a  '71Cuda, and a '32 Ford, all at Wal Mart. Now, the Firebird, I have found at Micheal's for $22, I only paid $7 at Wal Mart. What a savings. The same with the other two, normally like $17 to $18. EBay is a good to buy as well.

I have one question,

How do I upload photos to these forums? I am not that computer savvy.

Have a good one, enjoy the builds,

Rick

I found the thread on ``bringing in new photos..`` in the Community Assistance section very helpful.

First you have to upload photos to a service such as photobucket  which is free.

earlier today I went to the local downtown B and F aka Ben Franklin store and got the 1955 Chevy Street Machine car model Revell brand. Also bought a testors jar/bottle of dark blue paint in case I want to paint the car a dark blue or since I still have gloss red left I might pain the car red.  Plus paining the door handles, windshield wipers and the side paneling things are gonna be a pain to try to paint silver/aluminm since my silver, grey, aluminum paints they end up not looking good for some reason. They end up too wet and they dont have that silver shine or something

urrutiap, Try getting a hold of Bare Metal Foil to do your trim bits. Better than painting the trim which is tough because those silver paints really take a long time to dry. You can order online the foil if you don't have a good hobby shop around where you live.
