I just got back from the L.I.A.R.S show yesterday and got the following:

 Revell -

 Corvette ZR1 - $17

 Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR - $19

'78 El Camino "Lowrider Magazine issue" - $10  All these are from Bardlys Car Collectables though the Viper and 'Vette were kinda pricey, but whatever.

a Revell Race Car Trailer from crca 2000 - got it at Dave's Hobby Shop down the road for only $11.50!

 AMT -

 '57 Chevy Cameo - $12

 '60 Chevy Custom Pick-up - $13

'41 Ford Woody Custom- $8 from our clubbie Walt who was a vendor

'32 Ford Phantom Vicky Street Rod - $13 from Gary "Get it on Paper"

'94 Camaro Z28 'vert - Free!  Got it as a raffle prize

  Lindberg -

Dodge L-700 with flat bed trailer & '40 Ford - My dad got it for $25 open and complete!

  Other -

My dad got a Magnifying lamp, a parts holder with magnifying glass, some Hot Wheels, and part of the L-700 kit he got (he'll build the trailer while i'll build the truck and the flash-infested '40 Ford).

I brought my friend along and he got a set of screw drivers, a stapler, and of course - Hot Wheels.  He also entered some stuff him and I worked on at the Display only table.

And... I won 1st and 2nd in the Juniors 12-17 class along with a free 1yr subscription to Model Cars Mag.  I also met Barry (streetrod) and John (GASSERS#1) who great guys to be with, and not to mention that I had a great time there as allways.

Cant get pics right now becuase my mum made me wrap all of them up for christmas, though I'm building the L-700 and '40 Ford as I type and the flatbed my dad is doing.

Currently on the workbench: TOO MUCH!! (for now...)

I took my 3 year old daughter to the LHS with me and she grabbed a Revell 2009 Dodge Challenger kit, hugged it, and said "I need this one daddy"......so...I got a Revell 2009 Dodge Challenger kit.  I usually build GM so it will be a good change of pace.

Mac, your post made me smile Smile.  I have to go to a HS with my 3 yo grandson one day and see what happens.  And Vspec, it sounds like you hit the jackpot at the LIARS show- when will you build it all?

Johnbuzzed, Glad the post was able to brighten your day.  It's the only time my wife didn't give me "that look" when I bought another model kit.  Hmmmmmm.....

Got this yesterday at the local AC Moore for $14 with mah 40% off coupon.  It was the only one they had left, and I didn't want to make the same mistake like I made with letting the ZR1 I saw fly away at one of the stores I was at. So I got it ans i'm happy! CoolYeah!!

Got the pic before it was wraped up

This one arrived in the mail this morning.

I looked at this kit about 15 or 16 years ago at an earlier release, and missed buying it at the time. Now i seem to be one of the lucky 5,000 of this limited re-release by Revell Germany. Unfortunately, mrs warra won't let me open it until 25 December, can't figure out why.

The kit is a re-pop of the original model from 30 to 40 years ago, from the original tooling. It's not a new one. Skill level 5.

Got myself two kits today! The Revell pete 359 which is destined to become a loose interpretation of the dreadnought from Deathrace. The other was the Revell kenworth W900, which i will eventually make into more of a show truck. Can't wait to tear into them!

I had a birthday last week and got two. The first is a 1934 Packard Twelve Deitrich Convertible Coupe transkit. Apparently I am the first customer for that one. The second is a very rare Bandai Duesenberg SJ Sedan in 1/24 scale. I have heard about the kit and saw it on ebay for a truly obscene price. Because I had recently sold a lot of my unbuilt stash on ebay, my wife (who is the perfect woman) said "just buy the %$@& thing," so I did! I will post some photos when they arrive in the mail.

Why can't I stand to slap these things together like I did as a teenager? On the bench 1930 Packard 734 Speedster Victoria, 1932 Duesenberg J Judkins Coupe, 1934 Ford Cabriolet, 1926 Ford Model Ts-the complete set of all six bodystyles.

Almost picked up one (or more) of the new Revell midget kits, but the LHS didn't set any aside for me even though they said they would! Boohoo

Got a MIB unbuilt MPC '78 Firebird Trans Am today...first one I've had molded in white w/ the solid roof. I've had plans for a while to build a Rockford Files car replica, and this is a good starting point. I've built a couple of the later MPC '78 kits (black & gold box art) and they had the t-tops pre cut, IIRC.

Also some Missing Link Resin parts, incl. a '77-81 Firebird Formula hood..plan to do a '79 Formula using an MPC '79 T/A kit that's on it's way...

I got the new Revell Hawaiian kit today and I plan on opening it and starting on it this weekend. It's about time I build a "new" kit instead of just bringing it home and tossing it on the pile.

You are right on the price Irmeber when kits ranged from 2 to 4 dollars a long time age but even 10 by todays market inst to bad I  guess I see parts on  e bay going for 29 to 50 dollars  that just rediculous. Some people have no concept of real rices.

So you have a JD dealer that sells model trucks? How cool is that.

I just got the AMT DOUBLE DRAGSTER kit from an LHS for $25.00 (decent price for two kits in one box), a Revell '41 Chevy Pick-up and a can of Testors Lacquers "Deep Purple" from Michaels.

I did see the NEW Chi-town hustler Charger FC there (the only one they had) and I was going to get it, but it looked like some slob spilt what beleved to be wendys forsty goop on it (BLEGH!!!!)  I DIDN'T want to take any chances with GERMS or who-knows what other crap would be on it!!  So I put it back and got the only '41 chevy they had that wasn't mangled or sloped on by ingnerant slimeball ditzos!  The rest of the slection was hit and miss, and the small slection of clearence models were all GONE except for a lonely '57 bel-air BW and a KW 1/32nd snapper.

luckly the spray paints were still intact so i'm glad I got to it while I still could!  Even though it wasn't locked which means it could lead to trashing up the store.

Anyway, end of that rant.  I looked at the DD kit and it looks awsome!  She gos in the stash for now until I get around to it.

Sorry, no pics just yet as my sister won't let me put 'em on to her new computer, and I can't get them on mine because she's useing the internet on that one too!  But I will get them on ASAP.
