Revellation

Wow, if you look on most of the internet sites there is very little new releases from Revell. With the increased sales due to rona,  you would think Revell would be on top of it. Round 2 is certainly seizing the moment . I had a feeling this would happen when Revell of Germany took over Revell  USA. All the cool stuff Revell has at their finger tips  and all you find is the 1929 roadster kit. What a shame. I had stated that I was concerned that Revell of Germany didnt have a clue about the history of the American model industry and it appears I was 100% correct.  Hey how about another  Ford GT kit???? Dont think so. Maybe Mobieus or Round 2 can purchase all the tooling back from Revell of Germany. Sure hope something happens. It would be a shame to see all the historical stuff just disappear.

Revell just announced on their Facebook page (effective 9-1-2020) that they will be doing a 1971 Mustang Boss 351 kit, all new tool, and even better, they are scanning a 1/1/ scale car to make sure the body proportions are correct.

At least one derivative of this kit tool will follow later.

The 1971-72 Mustang is finally getting the attention it always deserved in the collector car community, and the 1971 Boss 351 is now regarded as the overall best musclecar of the entire first generation Mustang lineup by many experts; it was certainly amount the fastest and best handling Mustangs of that era, notwithstanding the comparatively 351 Cleveland engine underhood.

There has never been an accurate styrene assembly model kit of the 1971 Boss 351 (the AMT-Ertl effort of the late 1980's/early 1990's was a complete fail in the minds of most serioud model builders).   Hopefully this one will sell well, and convince Revell's Germany-based ownership to invest in other future kit topics of domestic iron!!

Cheers....TIM

And now it's gone from the Facebook page. I hope the whining on another model site did not deter them.

I hope they issue the Mustang. I guess they cancelled the Baja Bandito too. I know its not a real vehicle but I grew up on Tom Daniel kits. They are failing to seize the moment. Revell was a premier  model company.  I hope they get things underway.
