AMT "66" Buick Wildcat
Posted by gwaltz on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 8:37 PM

I bought this kit in February on vacation, got home and began construction by painting the body a beautiful teal pearl. Looked great, then I began on the the chassis and engine. Not a great nailhead but ok with some work. Then I went online to get  interior details. The 66 Wildcat interior is completely different from the kit! Upon further research I found that the kit has a 65 Buick interior (very accurate) but unfortunately made this  kit impossible to build as an accurate replica. Ended up as decent shelf model. Lots of good custom parts left over.

Thanks for this. Question, does the engine depict the  two 4 barrel version (360 HP)?

Yes, no stock valve covers, just chrome finned ones.

Hmmm;

 What I would like to see is some more four door cars. Like a big A**%@ Buick Deuce and a Quarter, 65, 66, 67 maybe? Or the 59 Buick four door Flattop ? These cars began to show how far Detroit was into trying to make failed designs come to life. Go back in history and read the conplaints about the 59 Chevy tail getting light at speed!

 I just think they would be fun, not just because they were on T.V. or a Movie. If that's the case let"s have the wood-sided Jeep Grand Wagoneer from the late eighties that's on Hallmark and maybe a fifty-seven Country Squire! Seen in more than a few movies and programs.
