I have been wondering.

Hmmmm;

      What is wrong here? I love this site although I haven't visited for a while. I have always thought if it is gorgeous Bodywork and stance, But Not, Monster engines and wheel combos, why not a topic called Showcars and Full Customs?

     After all, not all you see at a car show is opened up and showing the engines. The bodywork and complete vision it generates is what's at play. For instance the older car shows. The yearly ones that used to be the Cat's Meow. I got to see the Lincoln Futura Before it's descent into oblivion as the " Batmobile", and a few others Like the Buick and Oldsmobile dream cars. Ford too. Oh, Let's not forget Chrysler.

     These fostered many shops coming up with their own iterations of the " Dream Car". Many were created by fellows with a dream. Bubble tops, Swoopy lines and just sheer artwork. I would like to see that kind of subject matter in it's own setting. Don't give me big engines you cannot use to full potential on the street. Give me a Boulevard cruiser that with what you see, just plain "Knocking My Socks Off " Look.

   Darryl Starbird and the Alexander Brothers did that. So did many others. Can and do we have enough interest to have a Full Custom column? What do you folks think?

I think having a section for customs/show cars is a great idea.

I agree. That would be a good section to have. Almost everyone at one time or another has built a cool custom or a show car,

I think that a full custom section on the forum is not necessary since it would most likely be a "flash in the pan".  Here today and gone tomorrow, not much interest.  Even I have seen a minimum of entrants of full custom models at my Club's yearly model exhibition.  The former editor of Scale Auto Magazine and previous head of this forum has said no new sections for this forum and I don't know if the current editor feels the same.  My thought is to send the editor of Scale Auto an email asking if there are any plans to add sections to the forum.

1.  What is TRAK

2. Why not just start a thread, such as this, where people can post their dream cars for discussion.

3. OP, you sure were at the height of the movement!  Cool you saw those cars early on!

What this forum needs is more membrs and visitors, not more categories.

I do tend to agree with this for the most part. However, I also think that many of the present members need to learn how to post pictures in their threads and posts as well. All too often members will submit to the Gallery then wait for the pictures to be added by forum administration. When those pictures don't get added in what they feel is a timely manner you get the sarcastic "How long does it take for pictures to get approved" posts to start. It's a well known fact that pictures need to be uploaded to a photo hosting site, whether it be a paid site like Fotki or free to use like Postimage or Imgur, yet we still get the same questions about picture hosting and posting. Also, the lack of interaction between members here is quite frustrating. I fully understand that everyone has different likes and dislikes, but all to often many threads go with out replies and that becomes a turn off. In closing let me add that if adding a new section will infuse some life and enthusiasm into the forum then I say go for it.

Folks already ignore use of proper topic sections anyway, why add to the mess?

In a word? Junk. I stretched the body to proper proportions and will be mounting it on an AMT Toronado chassis. I guess it's okay for a quick, fun build but, I'm a details kinda guy. As it comes the fit is fussy on almost all of it.

I like the old show cars. It was an outrageous time in automotive history.  The kits were not of good quality but they were produced.  I remember the pink panther cartoons on Saturday morning.  I couldn't wait to see the car at the start of the show. It was so cool and still is. I also like the Invader and the bathtub. Too cool and they were real cars. I modified my copy of the bathtub and I wish it had been a better kit from the start. I still cherish it.
