5 year collection disk
Posted by tadkins796 on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 10:22 AM

Got my 5 year Collection program, not happy with it. It should've been programed to add on to the First 35 years program. Don't like that I have to access it through a PDF program.  Useing the Acrobat DC reader, dosnt' let you move through pages very well. H--L the Acrobat Reader takes up most of the page. Very disappointed in it.

I, just got mine yesterday and I was disappointed with the pdf format at first. But after learning how to get it to my taste (enlarged browser size) I, really enjoy it and somehow I missed out on the 2015 contest annual. Now I have it and the others as well as the other issues that I have in the paper but it's so much easier to use DVD.

Is each issue a separate pdf file? And can you download them as files to your computer, or do you have to use a reader off the disk? Thanks. Jim F

Each PDF is password protected, which is embedded in the reader program, so you have to use that.

Thanks for the reply, saves me spending $30. to be disappointed. It's why I bought my subscription to the magazine from Pocketmags. I can download each issue and put it on my Kindle. Zinio does not have that option. I like digital mags, but not if I have to sit at my computer to read them. Jim f

I finally brought mine to work and unwrapped it.  My first 35 year version got corrupted somehow and had to reinstall.  I saw this thread before and knew the 5 year version wouldn't install with the other, but am severely disappointed that I can only run it where I have the DVD.   I have a copy of the 35 years at work and at home on the laptop.  If I run out of things to do at work, I *might* sneak a look at the SAE.

So FWIW if the SA powers are listening, I think any version should be able to attach to the other, so eventually you can all the issues in one application on your PC.  Even better I've found would being able to view on my 10" tablet.   Our laptop is an unwieldy beast to balance on my belly while watching TV in the old recliner.  LOL.

And having to have the DVD is inconvenient with having to have the DVD in the drive.
