Bullitt? Seems I like that !

The article on the Bullitt cars is awesome .

Now that said , ALL this issue after a general perusal is exactly what I've been saying for years ! That Malubu is the cat's meow after careful work . Most of you won't remember , But ,  I Galleried that car in a photo some years back .

Going to the printed comments has been refreshing . To inform , Marcus Cruz made comments about " Vinyl " top paint .  Marcus , Back in 1967 there was a paint and detailing shop in Little Rock , Arkansas , that did just that !

I took my " Bubble " topped 61 Pontiac Ventura 2dr ht. there and had it done . A deep Slate grey to complement the natural Silver Pearl I had had the car painted . It was very neat in the swirl patterns they were able to get in it " ala Chrysler ' Imperial !

The seams or what was supposed to be them , were very small and realistic in their composition . They took up no more space than the rolled seams on a real Vinyl or Leatherette " roof .

This was one way to have a Vinyl top in Arkansas that created no problems . You see , Even in the area it is in , Arkansas has High Humidity . High Humidity  means moisture in the air. Moisture that gets in the padding in a vinyl roof and sits . Bleeds through the pores of the paint and rusts the heck out of an automobile top . In Arkansas we worried about our cars rotting from the top down instead of the other way around !

Any other comments in the mag I haven't fully digested yet , But , It's up to the standards I have come to accept and expect from Scale Auto .
