I just finished a 53 Corvette built stock, and liked it so much that want to do a gasser version. I found this 55 on E-Bay and went with this one because it has drag race parts in it. Now I have to chose a direction for it, Low front or old school raise front, small block or big block, injected or blown. If I go big block I'll need to find a motor. I also have a choice of small blocks, the motor in the kit, the parts pack motor that was included in the sale, or a Gibson Mouse Trap injected motor I've been saving.

I'm planning on starting this the end of March or early April so I can paint outside.

I received the April issue of Scale Auto yesterday as the mail carrier was finished reading my copy and delivered it. I personally like it a lot better than the previous issue, and noticed over the years that some issues seem better than others, but that could vary from reader to reader. And yes I recently renewed my subscription as I'm a long time subscriber and Scale Auto is one of the few magazines that I get at all. The magazine industry today is not anything like it was back in the 60's & 70's.

Just arrived....

My A # 1, Top - o - the list, Holy Grail kit of all time ! Original release from 1965 - 66 ( It's as old as I am )

EDIT: This is NOT the first issue. It's the second issue ( new box art ) from 1969. The first issue had a White drag version on the box top. This  "IS" the kit from my youth. It has been re-issued recently, but with a few "diferent" part's.

Sorry for the "Mis-information" .... I must have "sniffed" the box a bit too long....

The decal's are over 50 year's old, they "might " be usable, but I'm going a different route. So they will be scanned and mounted in "Museum quality" bullit-proof glass for all time !

When I built this kit in 1971 - 72  I messed it up royaly... This time I "WILL" do it justice !!

( Been "sniffing" the plastic for the past 24 hour's ... Smell's just like an old hobby store ! )

Droooooooooooooooooooooool !

Dont worry about the thumb print.... paint it rust and call it battle damage.

Soon to be on the bench...

Yes, The kit is still in the bag.... so the picture look's like it's got "Experimental" fender's.

I'm not taking it out of the bag untill I clear my bench of all the other work's in progress.

( Gonna give it my "Un-divided Attention" !!! )

Even the Instruction sheet "Smell's  Awesome" !!!

Found this at a flea market the other day, sad someone took a hot knife and butchered up the rear wheel wells pretty bad then apparently tossed it back in the box and forgot about it. I cleaned up the openings and while a little to large for a drag car it will make a great dirt modified with the 427 2x4.

This kit was found at a flea market and apparently started when 1st issued and butchered up the rear wheel wells so badly he tossed it back in the box and forgot about it!

As found with rear wheel wells pretty badly butchered sadly. Otherwise the rest of the kit was not touched thankfully

managed to get the wheel openings cleaned up, and now must decide on either a dirt track race car or Drag car with huge slicks...I am leaning toward the dirt tracker

Sorry if pic cant be seen. I've forgotten how pics are linked from Pinterest as ive been away too long from this forum.

Anyway, today i got AMT's Mod Rod, and their '41 woody.

They are nothing special i know, but to me they contain good stuff. Woody i dont like kind of at all, but it has somewhat good flathead with separate headers and hiperf heads plus QC rearend.  ( i hear..Ive never owned this kit before .) I recall that at one time box instructions told that the gearbox even contains Zephyr gears. Lucky me.

As for the Mod Rod, i am looking it with TROGish thoughts. Then again i have one TROGer under works and i absolutely love that famous Hinman roadster.... Low buck avenger, scraping sparks and rising hell, you know.

Just received the "AMT" AlpineA210, R8 Gordini. This is one of my Grails, as I raced a Gordini in SCCA preped by the late Ed Zink of Formula Vee fame. The real car has long since gone to the race track in the sky, and I've always wanted to build a model of it. Now I can and if I can figure out how to post pics, I will. I'm not the most computer literate and don't know about all this post and stuff i'll try.

MPC '69 Barracuda, just because of Highwaymen movie.

Revell '29 Ford Pickup ratrod 3-1 kit, the usual.

MPC Malco Gasser,i think i'll use only its engine and perhaps bits from rollcage, maybe tranny and rear axle as well, but surely not the chassis nor body. Been playing with idea of Mad Max-ish car....like the Cuda mentioned above but i love Cudas hood scoops shape/looks and i think i dont want to punch a hole in the scoop to make the blower fit.

Last one is Tamiya's Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R street custom,kit 24 3 35 .

Its 1/24 scale but im using its engine, wheels and tires, wheel arc flares, maybe some driveline parts too, in my Datsun Pickup kit from Round2, which is 1/25 scale.

Having decided recently to build the cars that I've owned, I picked up a couple kits this week

Revell '85 Olds to make my '85 Brougham

MPC Squad Rod to represent my '78 Custom

AMT '95 Blazer to represent my '01. I just have to swap out the front end.

Now I just have to figure out how to make a '96 ext cab s10 and find a representation of my '10 Impala

Also for a good price I picked up the newest '53 Chevy, '66 Suburban, '41 Willys, the newest '69 Olds and a '75 Olds promo.
