Did Revell cancel the 1970 Charger R/T?
Posted by 195X on Monday, August 28, 2017 8:17 PM

The only thing showing on fleabay is the FF Charger. This '70 R/T isn't even showing on the website other than the 3rd quarter release page. Anyone know anything?

Seems to me, this would have been a pretty simple tooling based off the 1969 kit, so why is it taking so long?

My favorite color is clear. I am also ambidexterous, I can screw up equally well with either hand. I am 53 years old and been building for most of that time. :)

I had talked to Ed Sexton from Revell earlier this month and he said the '70 Charger kit should be out in mid Sept. or in October. I have PLENTY to build before that kit hits the shelves.

You should direct this question to Revell, not us!  Revell releases their kits when they think it's ready to be released.  We have no control or say as to when Revell releases its kits to the marketplace.

Never said anyone here did. Why is it other people can ask these questions and not me? Do you give the same jerk response to them or am I special? You have my permission to stay away from any of my threads if that's how you are.

The Fast & Furious Charger (and by extension, the upcoming kit) is actually an all-new tooling, not based on any of their previous Charger kits. So while I'm sure part of the delay is Revell spreading their kits across the year, they do need to go through the usual checks and rechecks they do with every new kit

Thank you Spencer, that's helpful. I figured most of the tooling would be the same, at least chassis and engine wise.

Sorry!  Didn't mean to tick you off with what I thought was an honest answer to your question.  It won't happen again.

A little less of this (!) and maybe people won't take you as being angry!

According to Hobby Search Japan this kit is due out after Oct, they are taking preorders for it.  http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10486718

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!

Here it is.

Incorrect wheels, and only one choice of engine.
