Combining Diecast and Styrene kits
Posted by aussiemuscle308 on Thursday, August 6, 2015 4:23 PM

We know over the past few years model manufacturers (particularly Revell) has tried to rationalise costs by using the same tools to make both diecast and styrene kits. their efforts so far have been disappointing to both camps, due to the requirements of both types of models.

I was thinking perhaps a better way to combine the two mediums would be to have the shell of the car in diecast, but have styrene everything else, like doors, hood, etc. That way the bodyshell wouldn't be too weak to have opening features like a styrene body would be.

i wonder if that's a better idea?
