I agree. Can't see a reason to drop an extra $20 when the free works for me.

if you want to spend $20 on hosting, that would just about cover domain registration and hosting for 3 or 4 months at godaddy.com

I all ready have photobucket to use and I can't post any more pics ther unless I remove some pics from there. They have a limit on the amount of pics you can post there.

I used the FREE photobucket bucket until I hit the limit. There are alot of pics I didn't want to delete sooo....I paid the $20 and joined it for a year. I have unlimited amount of pic space know. I've loaded up twice as many albums as I had before and have had no problems. To me...it's worth the $20 for less hassle.

I had a free account and it was not as limited as it is now. I had well over the new limits. They also limit bandwith so if you have a lot of visitors some can be blocked if you exceed that amount to. That limits your linking also. I paid for the year membership and I love it.

As for signing up for multiple free accounts. I think that that is wrong. Eventually if their member base is big enough they will become a pay only account. Most wed services start this was. Photobucket used to accept donations. Not anymore. Do you remember when AOL and Netzero were free??

I agree Darkrapid! Photobucket is a great service for most of us who just like to post a few pics now and again. But for folks who post a lot or like having all those albums, $20 is a good deal. I got the free account, and I decided that when I fill up my free album, I'll pay for a full membership.

When are some people going to learn that by taking advantage of all these services, it gets too expensive for companies to offer tham? Thanks to this kind of nonsense we'll all have to pay for an account soon, and it will likely be a lot more than $20.
In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups. There are the police who investigate crimes, and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories. Doink Doink! Jake Couture

I also think its just wrong, We don't want to take advantage of this and end up having to pay money for what should be a free account do we? I don't know if it has changed recently buy now it is $25.00 for a premium account. Plus it offers more than just more room for your pictures. Here are the advantages of a premium accout:

  • Premium Support Queue
  • Widows XP Publishing
  • FTF Uploads
  • More Bandwith and Space
  • All Advertising is gone

I had a free host and it didn't work here...others I knew had free hosts that just stopped hosting and lost all their pics...probably due to the abusers of the service...I looked at peoples albums and decided that a paid Fotki account was the way to go... It's easy to set up ,use and upload to...I have more space than I'll ever need (I Hope) and I like the way it looks...I think it's worth the money...Smile,Wink, & Grin
