Forum subscribing and email notifications
Posted by hedo2 on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 8:22 AM

I've just spent probably 20 minutes trying to figure out how to "subscribe" to the forum areas I like, and then be notified daily by email of any new activity.  For the life of me I can't find a way.  I use the "other" magazine forum regularily and have no problem being notified of new activity to the forums I can follow, or subscribe.  Not being able to easily follow new activity via email notification keeps me from visiting here often.  Can anyone help?  I have my email settings correct for recieving notifications.

I no longer receive e-mail notifications from any Kalmbach forums. This problem started after the "January outage". I don't anticipate this ever getting resolved.

Unfortunate. Not sure why it needs to be this way. Oh well.

Trying to compare the software here to the "other" mag forum is like comparing apples to oranges. It truly pains me to say it but this software here is ancient and archaic. It really could use an upgrade but I don't see that happening any time soon. On the plus side however we have a magazine here, Gregg and his donkeys at MCM can't make that claim. The only thing they can make is excuses.

Wouldn't it make more sense to contact Kalmbach Publishing about any issues you are encountering?

I tried that. I went to the Kalbach website and clicked on 'contact'. Next I had to click on the name of their publication that I needed help with. I clicked on Scale Auto Magazine and I was redirected to the Scale Auto Magazine help page.

I assumed that with this forum section labeled as it is it would be the place to ask for help.  It's not really a big deal, just makes it less likely for me to remember to check in here periodically.  I really like the way the "other" forum does it, that's all.

There used to be a phone number to call them as I once used it years ago.  I just went looking for it and it was not there.  Sorry!
