The "Gallery"
Posted by jbwelda on Thursday, March 03, 2016 4:59 PM

Hi I am kinda new around here and I attempted to post a couple of photos of my recent stuff in the Gallery via the black bar near top of page. It has been at least a few days now and nothing seems to have shown up. I did see that the fine print mentions 24 hour wait for the photo to be approved, but its been well over that now.

So, not to be pushy or anything, but are there some requirements maybe I missed and caused my photos to be rejected? Should I have gotten some acknowledgement via PM one way or another? Or is it just taking more than normal time to get them up?  I posted a comment to another builders photo and that showed up rather quickly despite the same 24 hour warning for posting comments.

Many thanks!

Wow 64 views and no responses.

Tough audience tonite.

So...no one knows about the Gallery feature?

OK, anyone want to hazard a guess at who i should contact for info? The "contact" page seems to go nowhere.

Not a very auspicious start, I'm afraid

Hey jbwelda !!  Welcome!!........For quite some time now "Gallery" posts have been LONG delayed.(Sometimes a MONTH). A former staffer (Jenny Maaske) is brought in to HELP out with the Postings. She has been called in because of "Short Staff" issues.(You can see her name credits in the "Posted By" caption of the Picture Post.) The magazine had to cut staffing(???). I guess we'll just have to be a LITTLE more patient.

(PS: It seems everytime they "Up Grade" this site, things get SCREWED UP. I guess if "Things work.....DON'T fix it!!" Doesn't apply to the "Powers that be"..At this time.....    Later,Bud......JohnZ

hey thanks for the reply, well if that's the issue then no worries, I was just wondering if somehow they didn't get submitted even though I thought I had. If things are just slow to post there then its not a problem, just wanted to know what to expect. thanks again and good to see some friends here next I am going to attempt posting some photos but I might do it in the testing forum first. thanks again jb

Just a idea jb,  instead of the gallery, you could post in the catagory of the model, those are immediate, and would probably get more traffic.

ok folks thanks for the guidance. Appears you can't always get what you want, as mick once sang, because while one of my photos did appear, the other is possibly lost forever. But perhaps I take the advice of midnight prowler and just start some threads, now that I know how to post pics.

BTW here is the photo i posted that seems to not have appeared

ok another one, of engine:

interior:

and the back:

thanks again folks, will start posting some threads soon

That is sweet. Where is the engine from?

Seconded on that being an awesome ride. I'm curious about the grille insert, is that scratch built or a custom part?

hi Lee, engine is the Tempest 4 cylinder from the Mickey Thompson Attempt 1, but it has been converted over to a hemi head (i believe that was actually done at one point), and complimented with twin Weber carbs. I think its a totally kool engine and the kit came with two complete ones in case you wanted to build the car (the Attempt 1 that is) with twin engines as it later evolved to. Here it is built right out of box and on the stand that comes in the kit for the spare engine:

That front grille insert, i forget where exactly i got it but i believe it was one of the rather recent Revell 32 Fords, maybe the 5 window coupe. And i had a sheet of those witch doctor decals made up not too long ago so they are showing up all over my builds these days!

thanks again

cool build, thanks for sharing

I am also expierencing the same issues in the gallery. A couple of my pics made it a couple years ago but have since dissappeared. They don't even show up under my profile, it just says no pictures uploaded
