Can Polycarbonate paint be used on a styrene plastic ?
Posted by Renaldo '67 on Friday, November 20, 2015 10:15 PM

I mistakenly purchased Tamiya Color for Polycarbonate PS-60 Bright-Mica Red and was wanting to know could it be used on a styrene plastic kit, if so are there any special precautions or techniques involved in using it .

Take a scrap of styrene, spray on a good primer/sealer then the polycarbonate paint and see what happens.  If an automotive grade lacquer can be used on styrene over a quality primer/sealer I would believe any Tamiya brand paint would be useable.  Just my $.02.

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!
