Been wondering on them and now I see the "area" to add one, HOW do I go about it? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Go to Manage Profile, then select one of the avatars provided. It doesn't appear that one can add their own avatar.

Thanks. sadly, I'll leave it be for now till it has more to choose from..... to "cartoonish" for me.....
I agree...I briefly used one of the options provided, but it turned out to be a goofy looking kid. Sorry, I'm a modest 72 years old and none of those child-like avatars are appropriate.
I'm not a kid but to you I am LOL (sorry guy) I'm 37, and none of those offered apealed to me either....
I'd rather have a picture of a motor or even car emblem!
Yeah....Where's the avatar for the overweight bald old man, with a few white hairs, and bifocal glasses

Sorry, but I think they're down right weird!! Maybe if this was a pokemon forum...

so , I try using the screen prompts to make an AVATAR . It directed me to click one to change ........... So , I get Pokemon young man as my Option ?? If it were so , where is the Acne I still have . I am 66 , too FAT - Poor Shape and Health . How does this fit me ?? Why is contactig Monitors impossible here ? Excuse me please (the Avatar) for the awful choice SOMEONE MADE for me to identify myself . I apperantly am too STUPID to make my own choice ? Where does it end ? Thanx ..
Just checked on my "edit avatar". There are only 10 selections, 5 are female I guess this is political correctness for a forum that is 98% male members
All i actually wanted to do was to add a Mopar emblem, OR a Hemi emblem and or some sort of the 2 "signage" and call it good, I'm not in for the "people" representations..... I mean with a screen name like mine, what else do those THINK I'd use!?
MAYBE a small pic of my favorite model and or car, HECK even model of an engine be a good "Avatar". better then any of the 10 choices we got!
Most forums ALLOW users to make their own to a specific size, or pixel count, but this I have to say is al but rediculous!
Already been there. One major problem is unauthorized usage of copyrighted items. I imported such an item a while back and it was removed within a month. However, it would appear at this time that no one is looking ...............

As long as the actual "avatar" picture has the given "credit" for the picture, and your not "psing" to have made it or done it "artwork" then...... I can't see an issue UNLESS the person or business or company has an issue using it....then it be a bit different.
BUT, I have a few of my own "MS Paint" made avatars from drawings I did..... That I'd like to use!
My avatar pic on another froum is just a '70 Cuda, I can't see where that'd be an issue. This is something that would be nice, even if you could a pic of yourself or your models, that'd be nice .... unlikely but nice

I agree, but others might think that displaying the Confederate flag would be nice, and we all know the sentiments of this forum.
Policing the avatars would be a huge issue, just to make sure there is no porn, unacceptable images, etc. IMHO an avatar just doesn't contribute anything, but that's just me.
I suppose you could simply drop in, as your "avatar", a graphic image that you store on Photobucket, just like you would drop in one of more photos within a posting, and then simply add your screen name.
The other thing i have noticed is that many of the members instead use a "quote" or clever taxt line at the end of each of their postings, as part of their signature. Not as visual as an avatar, but still communicates your personality.
