Magazine Quality

 Hi Jim

It's me "Mr. Pretigous". Just wanted to say that I think you're doing an excellent job and the magazine is back to the level it was in the late 80's, early 90's, when it was at it's best. Keep up the great work and looking forward to seeing you at NNL East.

Aaahhh, it's getting there! The article quality has risen however the magazine 'girth' is still quite thin. I understand it has a lot to do with advertisers AND new kits etc. being given to SA in a timely matter...if at all!

I feel the strength is in the writers adn I do give KUDOS for all the writers. It's YOU people that have brought it back up in quality!

I'd say if I were grading it, and the old SAE of the 80's/90's were an A+, it's about a B-...still better than the D+ it was a few years ago!

My 2 cents

-Mike

I agree with the quality comments--great content.  Its pretty amazing that one magazine and one section of the modeling hobby has this much diversity: bench racer, dioramas, trucks, cars, show coverage, how-to, and kit review.  Its really awesome work.

I've talked with Jim in the past about certain aspects of the 'OLD' SAE vs Scale Auto. Certain things and writers I do miss. I miss the resin review, but like Jim explained to me "It's a rarety that resin makers send them an item to inspect and review!" Another is trying to get model manufacturers to pre-release to hobby magazines an early release before it hits the shelves is a rareity also...apparently nothing like the auto industry!
